2001 Locations for the Masters Series Events
[Current Schedule] [Location Map] [Series Rules]
Vanguard Sailboats have agreed to sponsor the NA 2001 series. Three sails will be drawn for at or shortly after the last race of the 2001 season. Those who have sailed one event will get a chance at one sail, those who sailed two events will get another chance at the second sail, and those lucky sailors who managed three or more events will be in the draw again for the third sail. You can't win more than one sail, and if you do win, you have have to miss the draw the following year.
NA Masters Series Rules for 2001
[Win a Sail from Vanguard] [Current Schedule] [Location Map]
Not really rules but a series scoring system similar to that used by the EuroMasters series. We will score both the overall handicapped results and the individual age group results. One point for first, two for second, etc. Did not enter scores 100 points initially but this will be adjusted to the largest number of sailors plus 1 so that a sailor who enters a regatta will always received some scoring benefit. At the start of the season everyone is equal with 300 points, with the possibility of working all the way up to 3 points. Those who do three events will almost always finish ahead of those who only two events etc. And, of course, you must be a member of ILCA when you sail your events. Fred will check on status.
Other standard items requested by masters sailors.
One race completed constitutes a valid regatta.
Standard regatta scoring across all series, 1, 2, 3, etc rather than 3/4, 2, 4, or any other scheme.
